The chart below shows the most popular offers advertised across our 1,200+ verticals during the month monitored. Highlights:

  • Sale was the most popular offer. 43% of all offers included "sale" in the ad copy.
  • Free Shipping was #2 when it comes to most-seen offers, with 36% of all offers including "free shipping". Did you know that an offer for free shipping is often more appealing to customers than a 'dollar amount off' offer, even if the dollar amount is higher than the shipping cost? How many of your competitors are offering free shipping, and what is their minimum required sale price to get it? (The Search Monitor can tell you.)
  • Free products are more popular than in the past. Certain times of the year, and in certain categories, we see advertisers mentioning free products in their ads. In Q2 of 2015, this offer type was seen in just 6% of  retail ads monitored. At the start of 2016, that number was up to 10%, and today it is up to 15%. 
  • NEW! Claims accounted for 3% of offers seen during the month. You can now monitor these new offer types for your competitors or partners. The new offer types include claims (boastful ads with words such as best, guaranteed, lowest, and greatest), and programs (loyalty and points programs).
