New Release: Google Keyword Data

The Search Monitor is now integrated with Google’s API to pull keyword research statistics.  You can find stats including the most recent monthly search volumes and historical search volumes by keyword as reported by Google.   This information is available as custom field selections within custom reports for both paid and organic search listings.

New Release Baidu + New Charts

We are pleased to announce that The Search Monitor has released the following new features:

  1. Baidu: The Search Monitor now monitors Baidu paid listings. Both brand and phoenix nest listings are monitored. To add Baidu to a campaign, you must select this country and language combination: China, Chinese (simplified).
  2. Stacked Bar – Knockout Charts. Custom charting now includes 2 stacked bar chart options:
  • Affiliate Knock-Out Report: This chart shows you the % of the time when affiliate URL Hijackers have ‘knocked’ you off of a keyword so that the affiliate’s ad appears and yours does not. It provides you with a metric to quantify the loss caused by direct linking affiliates.
  • Rank Knock-Out Report: This chart shows you the % of the time your competitors’ ads ‘knock’ you out of your desired rank on a keyword or list of keywords e.g. rank 1.

New Release: Organic, Shopping, Local

We are pleased to announce that the following new features and enhancements were released this month:

  1. Affiliate ID. The affiliate ID is available as a separate field in all of the Affiliate Monitor reports. You can also find the affiliate ID as a column option within custom reports.
  2. Bubble Charts. You can now create custom bubble charts – you control the x and y axis, the colors, and which competitors are charted. Charts can be customized, emailed and scheduled.
  3. Organic, Local, and Shopping Release. The Search Monitor’s organic reports are unique because we report on the actual contents of the SERP page – this includes all page sections and the traits of each listing. ‘Page Section’ consists of natural listings, local listings (the map), video, images, books, shopping, blog section, news sections, and others. Listing traits include paid inclusion (Yahoo), expandable stock quotes, maps, video players, indented listings, sub-links, ratings, and reviews.

Organic reports allow you to monitor competitors, affiliates, and trademarks just like you can with paid search. Organic reports are included with all of our existing packages. Every term that is crawled for paid search, is now automatically crawled for organic.

July 22 2008 Release: Google Expansion Markets

We released the following new features today:
1. Google Expansion Markets. We have added several new countries to our system. You will notice the country selector as an option when you add a new campaign. With this iteration, you will be able to assign 1 country per campaign. In a few weeks, you will be able to monitor multiple countries within the same campaign.
2. Languages. When you select your desired country, you will also have a choice to monitor in English or in the native language of that country. The choice is yours, the SERPs may be different depending on the language.
